Located at Minoyan, Murcia, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Mambukal Mountain Resort is truly something to adore. A 45-minute ride from the city will bring you to a scenic place unlike any other – indeed, nature at its best! This area covers more than 23 hectares at the foot of Mt. Kanlaon Volcano (highest mountain peak and most active volcano in Central Philippines) and lies 1,200 feet above sea level. Isn’t that marvelous?! 8)

I spent the afternoon here. It was not you typical “hot summer afternoon” – rather it was more of a “rain drizzling cool afternoon” under the thick dark clouds above. But still, nothing could ruin an opportunity like this.
And the rain was gone! Hallelujah! 
Mambukal is known for the many hot Sulfur Springs in the area. There’s a warm Sulfuric Dipping Pool that was said to have several therapeutic benefits. There’s a beautiful Butterfly Garden along the pathway, and a Canoeing Lagoon open to everyone’s desire. Of course, the resort also has this so-called Slide for Life – which I haven’t tried, a Rock Climbing Wall - which I will try soon, and the ascent from the First Falls to the Seventh Falls which was said to be an hour and a half of knee-killing trek. I know my afternoon could not cover all of these… Boo.

This marvelous resort is home to around 4000 fruit bats that live freely in the area. To my surprise, these bats gave me a picturesque view when I took a look up. Apparently, they might have thought it was night time already (because of the clouds) since bats are nocturnal and emerge from their daytime roosts only when the light of day is fading.
