Grace, Annabelle, Jun-Jun, and Carlo, I met these kids at Inayawan, Cebu – a place where the big municipal landfill is at. You get to meet a lot of families who are still dependent on garbage (just like in the Calahunan Dumpsite, Iloilo), children just collect things from the filthy mountain of people’s daily wastes. I know. It’s sad. 🙁

Annabelle is really having a good time. 🙂

I bonded with them and talked to them as if I were a local there, but my “Cebuano” skills are genuinely not blending in with the setting. Then again, you could really see that they are having a great time. It’s truly inspiring.

Objectively speaking, traveling does make you a better person. It makes you a better person than you were before. Why?

  1. Traveling teaches you how to adapt. New experiences are always everywhere, even in the city that you have spent most of your life in.
  2. Traveling gives you a new PERSPECTIVE of how some parts of the world is. Every culture is something extraordinary and experiencing it will let you expand your knowledge.
  3. Traveling teaches you new things. The more you travel, the more it opens your eyes.
  4. Traveling makes you a complete person. “The more you know, the more you grow.” It’s stepping out of your comfort zone.

That’s why I won’t be stopping. 8)
