“Taklong” Forest Snails, Anyone?

Imagine these “slow poke” herbivore snails crawling with traces of orange slime, carrying a huge shell on their backs, and thriving in wooded areas of the forest being served as a local cuisine in Brgy. Bayuyan, President Roxas, Capiz. Read more →

8 Awesome Commandments for Newbie Backpackers

It is always an experiment in every journey. From the collective trial and error of my laundry “overnight drying time,” or the number of hours that I feel hungry after a full meal, or the different responses of people when I accidentally drop my near-to-extinction Nokia phone and it breaks into several pieces. haha! For me, it is a mix of experimental research and a hint of sociology. Thus, being a newbie backpacker entails a whole lot of “learning from your previous mistakes.” Read more →

Day 254: Free Wi-Fi and Next Day Planning

I worked on our itinerary for our 6-day Davao adventure days prior to the starting date, November 21. We had several debates as to whether we will be going to Camiguin, or ditch the Water Rafting, or ditch the Camiguin adventure and go back to Davao then embark on another journey to Samal Island. Those debates made our trip very productive – since most of the pre-planned itineraries were crossed out, interchanged, and replaced as the days roll by. And we played the game of chance! Day 239: The Young Life Experience

I admit I took very simple things for granted. I grew up with almost everything provided for me – I consider myself as one of those “lucky” people probably born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I depended too much on household helps that it took me 22 years to realize that I don’t know how to survive without someone to rely on. This is what I have learned in Cebu for my week long exposure as a work crew in Young Life Oktober Kamp 2012 – and from the couple of camps I attended this year. Read more →

You hop on board, find your deck, put down your things, get some blankets, and then it has been only 15 minutes. What happens for the rest of the 11 hours and 45 minutes on a 12-hour boat ride to somewhere amazing? Iloilo to Cebu takes exactly that long to travel via sea. 😀 Read more →

“Panic Mode” Somewhere Along SLEX

It was indeed a series of unfortunate events when I was in Manila – not to mention my “killer heels” situation in Pasay City, or being totally drenched in Quezon City while hailing a fully loaded Public Utility Bus going to Paranaque City, or the part where I was chased by an unchained Dalmatian Dog… Then this! We got lost in the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in the middle of the night all because of a single missed turn. Read more →

Pasay City on 6-Inch Heels

It was the 3rd Quarter Blast of the company where there’s expected product launching, global introductions, and so many surprises for everyone. I was invited to attend the event along with several others from Iloilo City last August 25. Of course, in every assembly, my favorite part is to dress corporate, put on some light make up, and yes, slip on some killer heels! I know, generally, that the SMX Convention Center is a pretty vast place so, I was already limiting myself from strolling around (especially knowing that the Mall of Asia is right next to it). Day 179: After a Brief Hiatus, I’m Back!

Hey there, stranger! I assume nobody is reading my blog posts anymore. LOL! 🙂 It has been a crazy joy ride the past couple of “days” – 48 to be exact! I remember it so clearly like it was just hours ago that I set aside my unfinished articles and said “I’ll publish these later.” Procrastination came hours became days, days to weeks, and now, a month and two weeks! Ok, I lied about the “Brief Hiatus” thing… But I’m not lying that I’m seriously back, though. I miss writing! 😀 Read more →
