A Thank You Speech was not really required but I just felt the need to (along with me daydreaming that I was at the SMX Convention Center last September 29 for the Digital Influencers Marketing Summit)…
This would go something like…
The name Between Coordinates would not have been included in the roster of winners if it weren’t for all of you – dear friends, readers, mentors, and those people who never cease to dream. Thank You. This blog started from a single, bold, out-of-the-blue thought of “traveling the world” that soon became “the dream” – a mantra that I live by each day. A dream that most of us do share. A magnanimous goal that wakes us up with a simple question: “Can you do it?”
I believe that the only failure is the failure to try because the true measure of success is not reaching the top but how we cope with disappointment. This is the reason why I started Between Coordinates. I am not afraid of the outcome (whether I get to travel the entire world or simply travel the city of Iloilo). I am certainly not afraid of disappointments. What is life anyway? We all get up in the morning, we do our very best to get through the day, and after all that – nothing else matters.
It is such a huge honor to have my blog be (even) considered as one of the “Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2012” knowing that the many sites that joined in this writing project were impeccable. Being recognized and nominated was already enough for me, but God is indeed great. To Ms Janette, the sponsors – Tof Salcedo, Philippine data center, and Philippine online shopping, thank you for this grand opportunity.
Who knew that my travel tales, philosophies in life, random realizations, nursing to web designer career shift, and personal challenges could somehow make a difference? Even just a little difference… To all the nominees and winners, Congratulations! The best is still yet to come!
And the speech would end there with my eyes gleaming with so much joy – enough to show a drop of tear for everyone to see how “OA” I could be… haha 🙂 Other than that, I am deeply honored and happy. Cheers! 🙂
